Hello y'all

I just saw a broken Boss analog delay... this thing's OLD!  It's in German... but there are some pics...

http://cgi.ebay.ch/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=170086763474

Does anyone know what kind of BBD this thing's based on? Or better still: schematic
If the price stays low (quite probable), this thing could be worth scoring for repairing... the thing looks like it's in good shape.
In the worst case, it's still a nice enclosure  ;D

What do you think?

Too bad that I can't buy it from here  >:( >:( ....

i didn't know they made delays in the same enclosure as my old Chorus Ensemble... that's were the expression "Built like a tank" comes from...   :)

You're right to research it before buying it, its not worth anything if the BBD is fried and replacements are unavailable.  Usually the symptoms would be, "the pedal works but there is no delayed sound"

I got the service manual.....IC's are
R5101  CCD
TC-4016p
tc4069p
tc4013p
and 4558
looks like they use the R5101 CCD Chip,,,,, I'm not fimiliar with that IC....anyone?

the dude

nevermind its a  Reticon  Delay IC obsolete as far as I know

Actually that's exactly the description they give in the auction text ... So most likely the BBD is fried...

@the dude: Thanks for the info ... That helps a lot in the decision process!

I guess these chips are nearly impossible to find--- So the price will have to be *very* low for me to consider it.

Thanks for the info, guys!

At least you have a nice tank-vintage enclosure for some builds!!...

I can't believe it... !

It's already at 78 Euros (around US$ 100), and the auction is still on for 7 days! And that's without shipping!
I know collectors pay good money for some stuff, but who would pay more than 100 bucks for an enclosure?!? I mean the auction's title contains the word "DEFEKT" (yeah, in capitals!)

Ok, the effect is quite rare... but still--

sheeesh... so much for my enclosure... I got better stuff to spend my money on.

yeah... €78 for an enclosure isn't very nice!!!!... I think that they might have some hope to fix it, it's a very rare effect and if it does work it's a very nice collection piece. That guy have a lot of interesting vintage pedals, too much shipping for me!!! (South America!)
