Vox version of a BSIAB II?

I wonder if it would be possible to tweak the BSIAB II a little to have Vox-ish sound (more chime, upper mids) and yet a substantial amount of gain. I remember the VoxEXP came close (might have to rethink that one?). The English Channel sounds great for lower-gain sounds, but the turning up the gain makes things a little muddy.

Doug Hammond had once come up with a Voxish pedal based on the dual-Minibooster topology. I'm not sure he ever built it, though. I'll bet someone out there has the schematic.

That's the VoxEXP. I'll give that another look, maybe on breadboard so I can tweak part values.

Sounds fun. I wonder if it's a matter of scaling down the low end and or trying to simulate a pentode input stage.
I've been meaning to try parallel input stages like some marshall/Matchelss amps...
The key is to get the smoothness as well as the "chime", and staying away from the "icepick" sharp high end!
