Hey,
my mate does elec engineering and is in his last year at Uni (UWA) and we both dont wanna just make stompboxes, we both wanna learn how each thing works and why it does its purpose. anyways i was wondering how everyone here explored circuts. We plan to grab a breadboard and just start with a really really basic clipping circut, then as we understand whats happening build onto it so it has tone controls and such. Does anyone here have suggestions on what would be good to do to help us understand more.

Any list of tools or parts to mess around with? my mate is well lecturered on mostfets and the such of knowledge isn't the problem, its just how we apply it.
