Greetings,

After finishing my Bobtavia yesterday I need a new project.  I though I'd try the ROG phozer or tim escobedo's wobbeltron or photon filter.  I do not have any Darlington transistors so my question is what if any problems would there be in using say a 2n3904,5088 etc. in the phozer.

Also, if anyone has built any of these projects, were you pleased with the results.  I heard the sound samples for the phozer but have not heard any for the photon filter or woblletron.

Thanks

I havent built the phozer etc. But you can make a darlington transistor out of two of your normal NPN.

Here is a diagram.

Thanks nelson.  I might give that a try.

I'm still  interested in hearing about the wobbletron or the photon filter. Any good/bad/indiffernt comments or sound clips.

Thanks ;D

I just built the Wobbletron last night (the first wobbly effect I've ever gotten to work!). It sounds cool, but is noisy and choppy. You need to add a decoupling cap between the emitter of the MPSA18 and the JFET, then reground both transistors with a 10k resistor.
I love the smell of solder in the morning.

wow I forgot about this post.  My wobbletron was marginally successful.  It distorted a lot with humbuckers and I had to try a few j201's before I got a decent amount of wobble.  I still have most of it on a board so I suppose I could try the suggestions all though I pretty much wrote this one off.
