One of the reasons I recently got hooked into making these effects was the recycling factor... and so I recently got a 40 year old Bogen transistor radio and there were these Holland 2n2431 in there. So are these good for rangemaster type fuzzes...? also you can see what looks like a electrolytic capacitor, my question is, do you recognize another type of cap or is it a electrolytic?...40 year old ones are surley dried out and bad..
thanks!

the cool thing about a rangemster, you can build it up so quickly it is as fast as building a tester.
if it biases anywhere close to the specs listed at Rg Keen's rangemaster article at GEOFEX, you will have a good sounding booster

I didn't look up your part number but they look like  Ge to me, I would build a rangemaster with sockets for the trannies and try em!
