Hi, i want to start building this project, but the only i could find were schematics, is there any layout fot he pcb ??

THanks

The official PCB is copyrighted, so you shouldn't be able to find it.

You could always try something like a TS808 or a Blue Magic.

blanik

the PCB is easily available on the net but the BD-2 is so complex that a DIY version is quite a commitment... a little bit like the metal zone... not worth DIYing in my opinion  :icon_wink:

Absolute rubbish. Take out the crappy fet switching and its only 8 transistors and one dual opamp. Ive built one on veroboard and pcb easily, its easier to build than a BSIAB2 or Boogey - no trimpots to adjust, no bias to set. The boss pcb layout has been published from the service manual, and there are two diy pcb layouts (without the switching) that I know of. It is perfectly possible to diy.

so where i can find the layout'? ???

really?! i had a copy of the pcb layout and although there's the fet switching, it was quite full!
the BD-2 is one i'd like to build for a while (my favorite dist)!

Start with the schematic without the switching ...

the layouts are on the net (chinese site I seem to remember) ...

wui223

Pls share the links if you happen to found it , thanks

blanik

i've looked but can only find the generic schemo... no vero layout  :-[

how do you search chineese sites? (my chineese reading isn't very good  :icon_mrgreen: )

wui223

I am a chinese. Where do u search the PCB last time, Torchy ?

i have a pnp ready copy of the original pcb for the bd-2. i will not post it, but i can tell you that it looks intimidating, but is actually, as stated, quite a simple pedal. diy is a definite possibility. i just don't like it enough in it's stock form to diy it. with some mods though...

markm

I think that's the one with all the switching still intact isn't it?

A wild idea just come across. Can we get a PCB design directly from the board using photostate machine and printer ? This is how it works:

Unpopulate the PCB, clean the solder flux make it as clear as possible. Then bring it to photocopy machine, get a transparency. Then we can get a PCB using UV board.

Its a good idea and i see your point but who would take their board and completly dissassemble
it to get a copy, especially if they already have an original one.

wui223

Oh just put it on photocopy machine to scan the copper side, then edit the pins with solder intact to hollow pins. Alot of works

Barcode80

i'm going to say this one more time. i already HAVE a copy of the boss pcb. there is no need for anyone to copy it again.

wui223

Sorry , my bad. Can u post it or email to me: albert_wui1@yahoo.com

Thanks. i have a original BD-2 modded with better quality capacitors and different diodes config. Might need one PCB in future for repair or DIY. BTW, Barcode80, do u jhave other BOSS pedal's PCB design? i got a few pedals need overhaul.

can i use j201's instead of 2sk184?
Look at it this way- everyone rags on air guitar here because everyone can play guitar.  If we were on a lawn mower forum, air guitar would be okay and they would ridicule air mowing.
