pedal-less wah

this is a general question about an effect. 

ive been searching for over an hour to no avail.     I could have sworn, that in the past i saw a crybaby pedal that was more of a stompbox.  no rocker. 
it was for those times when you use your wah in a 'Set-it-and-forget-it' type of situation,  when you just want a fixed Q.

im not crazy am i ?    i have to just be searching in all the wrong places


and if i wanted to build one of those, should be a cinch right?  since i dont have to bother with rack & pinion stuff.

...at least, that's the project that comes to my mind.

A very simple way to do it is to find a layout that somebody has done for a Crybaby or Vox classic type wah, and house it in a regular enclosure using a standard 100k pot in place of the "hot potz" style pot.

I believe the dunlop pedal was called the Q zone or something like that.

you can just build a wah circuit and put it in a regular enclosure.  That way you just have a knob to set your sweet spot.  I am planning this very soon for a freind of mine.

I have a Vox 847 I built a while back and never did box it up.  (Couldn't find a decent wah mechanism encosure to put it in.)  So I may put it in an enclosure and mount the slider pot on it and use it that way.  I never thought about adjusting the Q frequency with a set and forget setup.  Sounds like a cool idea.
