Long threads short need...reduce the HF rolloff point in this first diagram in link
  http://www.parts-express.com/resources/spkrbld.html
I have a Large Crossover unit, which is the topology of the first diagram on the above page.
I have no way at this time of knowing what the Xover frequencies are.
It has two inductors [unknown Henries] and two capacitors.
I have just built in two compression drivers, seriesed, recommended Xover Freq on them is recommended 3000Hz. I hooked 'em up, tried 'em out, and based on past experience with horns and Xovers, I think the Xover point is lower than that.
The obvious thing I see is to simply reduce the treble capacitor.
The "Bass" speakers are two 16ohm greenbacks seriesed for an 8ohm load, [not my first or final choice but they are working].
Being not all too familiar with Xovers, I viewed the above pages Zobel network, but that is for Hi Fi I think...
Could I series both inductors and measure resistance to get a 'comparator' to mix with wire thicknesses to try to ferret out...anything about what the d'eal is?
Other than start with new, what can I do to use this Xover.
Had a Martin Sound sticker on it...don't know how it got there, 1996 and an inspection sticker in red ink...but Martin said they didn't recognize it...I talked to a nice fellow named Joel who researched it [waited 'till the founder came in Monday morning..] and tried to find out what it was for me...I read the serial number S-1904...he called back 'n such...didn't ring a bell there.
The Titanium drivers [ferro cooled!], 50w ea., sound great but seem to 'bark' when 'leaned on'..over-excursion I believe, I'd like to tame what they see as 'low' frequency so I can run the system without worry.
  8ohms for woofers
  16ohms for tweeters
  Suggestions welcome !

And the inductance of 2x 16ohm, 12'' greenback G12M's in parallel would be?
Disregard this question if you could help me understand why a Zobel Network might not be a good idea for a Greenback...er...
This crossover stuff has got me whacky.
I suppose I should try building one, however..they all seem to have the same same ohmage on the tweeters and woofers.
  My tweeters are 2 x 8 ohm...so 4ohm or 16ohm tweeter wiring choices.
My Woofers are 2x16ohm, so 8ohm or 32ohm are my choices.
Well, now that I have the tweeters working and in a frame w/Xover..at some unknown frequency.
Knowing the frequency of the Xover is a simple matter of calculating and building from tweeters down as new...ie new Xover and woofers seems the route I have available for getting a reasonable Xover situation going.
I'd of course prefer to be able to use the drivers and Xover board w/the inductors...maybe the Xover board, because the inductors are unknown values...it looks like the very 'long route home' with existing indies and coils...the inexact one involving extensive testing, tweeking, and listening.
A scope would probably help ...

Nahh...just building a new one it looks like...
