Anyone ever added an LED to a ProCo Rat?

Wanting to know if it's worth trying.

This is a very simple thing to do; you can either use a 3PDT switch or use the Millennium bypass.

To calculate the resistor when using a 3PDT switch, use this equation: R = (Vsrc - Vled)/Iled

Where:
Vsrc = source voltage
Vled = LED voltage
Iled = LED current rating

If you can't find this value, use a resistor with a higher value. In fact, you may want to go even higher if your LED glows too bright.

i did it with a 3pdt. mounted in without any problems. if you look at the pcb though, it looks like there's already some sort of allowance for one? maybe they were just thinking ahead, maybe it's an option? didn't really look into it too hard and the switch was not too healthy so i just did it. the led allowance on the pcb is about where the "A" is on the other side. i don't own a rat, but i'd guess you could do it using the existing dpdt with their special bypass method.

i'd be interested to know...

i'd be interested to know about this as well...  anyone know about this?

Anyone know what ProCo's special bypass method is?

there's a geofex article on it somewhere. can't find it right away in google. basically they use a DPDT switch and wire it as such to eliminate one unnecessary switch, leaving one pole that 'floats'. this is read and transistors act accordingly on that. not a very good explanation, sorry. reallllly tired... brain dead....
