hi all,

i got a boss sd1, but i has developed a problem lately: the clean sound bleeds into the overdrive sound

how to fix it?

Hi,

if you meant the effected ssound is bleeding into the clean sound, the final solution (it works 100%) a clever guy came across is here:

http://forum.musikding.de/attachements/Boss_SD-1_mod_c.gif

(It's basically a layout problem of the pedal, so this solution involves adding a few extra components to reduce the gain of the overdrive to 1 when the effect is bypassed, so that anything bleeding through is not distorted)

However, if you reallly meant the clean sound is bleeding through, then it might be a jfet failure (there are 2 jfets in the switching section of the pedal - as in any boss pedal - which let the clean or the overdriven sound pass through them, basing on your footswitch "stomping").

Hope this helps,

Giulio

when i play with the pedal activated, i get some clean sound coming through it, mixed in with the distorted sound

MartyMart

That's a function of the SD-1 and TS-9 type circuits and is part of what makes them so popular
The way the opamp is setup, a fairly pure guitar signal is kept throughout along with the overdriven
signal - it's NOT a fault !!
The sparkle drive addresses this, which has a pot included for "clean blend"
For a fully distorted signal try a different circuit such as the mxr Distortion + there's lots of others
too.

it's different then that

i have this pedal for a few months now, liked the sound realy alot

but now i get more of the clean sound through it, it's like you use a blend-fx that blends the clean sound with the overdrive sound and set at 50%
