Hi, I've just populated the Great Cheddar Fuzz from Geofex and was wondering if i could use an Alpha 3P4T switch with solder tags and just cut and solder cable from the switch position on the board directly to the switch instead of the Lorin PCB mount type as suggested in the layout,   http://www.geofex.com/Article_Folders/grtchedrschm6.PDF
The switch i have seems be the same except it has solder tags but physical size is the same.
Only reason for asking is that i have one of the Alpha switches but would need to order the Lorin type if the Alpha was no use.
cheers Crawf.

Any switch with the right number of poles and throws can be made to work by wiring it up correctly. Use your DMM on "ohmmeter" to test whether the poles and throws are in fact where you think they are.

In response to the questions in the forum - PCB Layout for Musical Effects is available from The Book Patch. Search "PCB Layout" and it ought to appear.
