Hi all,

I built a Ross Compressor, wich worked just fine. But, when I put it in the enclosure and added a DC-Jack, it got broken somehow. Turning both the pots all the way up results in nothing but an increase in guitar volume, compression is gone. Turning them back down again makes the volume go down. So, now I've got myself  booster. But, I wanted a compressor! :-[

Anyone experienced this before? What can be wrong?!

Already did that, wasn't the problem.

But, now there's no sound coming out of it AT ALL... better go try and fix that first. Meanwhile, any suggestions to the first problem are still very welcome, I am really curious about what the problem is here...

Thanks!

Was the DC jack around the correct way?

I did that to my wah and it didnt appreciate it (reversed polarity)

i have to get my hands on some of your germs.  very soon.
Anywhere but here, that would seem odd...

I guess it was, paid extra attention to that. But, strange that it even made sound if that was the case, if the polarity was inversed I guess all it would have done is say BANG! when you stomp it on ;) Thanks anyway!

I'd take it out of the enclosure and see if it works again.  If it doesn't, that means you've either damaged a solder connection (check wire connections), or you wired something up wrong when you put it in the enclosure.  If it does work, than you've most likely got some problem with some part of the circuit, or a pot, or switch, or something shorting out against the chassis.  Or you've wired up some off board wiring wrong when you put it in.  I'd also try taking voltages with it out of the enclosure and working.  Then put it in the enclosure and recheck them.  You might find 0V somewhere you didn't find it before.
