General Biphase Questions

I have searched and couldn't seem to find a good thread on Biphaser basics.

Is it just two phasers in series?

Could you make one out of two Phase 45s?

The Mutron Biphase has two 6-stage phasers that can be configured as in parallel or in series for 12-stage phasing.

Thanks Mark.  After I read your post, I had the bright idea of looking at the front panel of a Mutron, and the controls pretty much tell the story.
