AF126-what is it?

I just bought a bag of mixed transistors off e-bay and there's an AF126 amongst them. I have looked on the internet where it says that is a Ge pnp transistor. Fine, but it has a BC109 metal can body (same size) and 4 legs. I can't find any info on what the legs are, I presume one is connected to the cap as a shield but would like to know which one it is. Does anyone know?

AF126, which is the later version of the AF116

Used in old radios from what I see..

My favorites were AC127 for audio, AF126 up to FM band, and AF239 for
the really hot stuff.

I have a bunch of AF117N here, which I presume have the same pinout. Using my DMM, I find the middle pin (that is the middle pin of the three in a row, not the odd one not in line) is connected to the case.

Please see pic. I believe the AF117 probably looks like the large OC172 I have pictured next to the smaller AF126. You can't see the 4 legs on the AF126 but they are arranged equally around the device with the tab that usually denoted the emitter mid-way between two of them.

I can't believe this is a germanium device as I've never seen one in the small case before. The OC172 has the same pinout as described by Paul.

I believe the entire AFxxx series is Ge. Certainly all the ones I have seen were, and all the ones in my data books are!
