I'm making a TS-808 clone and I would like to put the 3rd 1N941 Diode on a switch to change between Asymmetrical Clipping and Symmetrical Clipping (as in the difference between an SD-1 and the normal TS-808).  How should I wire this up? And could I also use a small 3-Way switch with the D3 slot empty then 1N941 Diode and then another value Diode for a diffrent effect? Also, when using Mouser.com which of these 1N941 diodes should I pick (http://www.mouser.com/search/Refine.aspx?Msb=1&Mkw=1N914%20diode&Ns=P_SField&Ne=254016+1447464&Ntx=mode+matchall&Ntk=Mouser_Wildcards&RefType=Header&Ntt=*1N914*%20*diode*&N=1323038%202445351) ? There are too many to chose from and the Bill of Materials that I'm using doesn't specify Reverse Voltage, etc. I'm using these (http://www.generalguitargadgets.com/pdf/ggg_its8_bom.pdf) plans off of General Guitar Gadgets.com.

Put *two diodes on one side l<--, one on the other -->l
Put a switch on one of the *two diodes, to short across is for symmetrical.
That way if the switch dies for some reason, you are stuck in assymetrical mode.
If two diodes are parallel, the one with the lower clipping threshold prevents the threshold from being met on the higher threshold diode, lift the lower threshold diode with a switch, and the higher threshold one [providing the circuit actually provides voltage swing which meets it's clipping threshold] will do the softer clipping, like if switch breaks.
There's buncha ways, like separate line for each diode types...I like it so something is left hardwired in the diode _ and + positions.
Convention creates following, following creates convention.

I was thinking of doing something similar but for an MXR Distortion + box.  I have just begun to put it on Veroboard, but what i was planning was a 6 position rotary switch.  There will be Germanium, Silicon, Led diodes involved as well as variations on symmetrical and asymmetrical clipping.  It's probably overkill, but i thought it might be nice to have too many choices.
