I apologize if this is in the wrong section.  I have only modded 1 pedal (and had to follow instructions for that) so I'm completely clueless.  I have been searching for the right heavy OD pedal and the SD9 has come the closest.  Anybody know how to tame that tone control?  Would a tone pot value change be the way?

Thanks, Jason

The tone control is a bit like a "Big Muff" control, 6k8 & 0.1uf to ground one side,
2k2/0.027uf and 6k8 to ground the other and wiper goes to the volume pot.
Search "duncan tone stack" for the calculator and you should be able to get it where
you want by changing a few values.
Turning it into a "straight" BMP control would be too much IMO, as the SD9 doesn't get
that "fuzzy" to require extreme tone control !
If you just want overall less "high end" then there's other ways to get there, such as a
larger parallel cap across the diodes or increase the 220p across the opamp to 470p etc ,,,

Thanks very much for the reply!!  The thing with the SD9 is I like the tone of the pedal with the tone knob nearly all the way to the left.  I'd like to find a way to get that tone and a little bit more clarity, if that makes any sense.  It seems to radically change once the pot is turned up.
