getting the hiss out of an MXR 6 Band Graphic EQ

while setting up my EQ pedal the other night, I noticed that it produces a lot of hiss.  Is there a way that I can improve the hiss on this pedal?

I don't know about the MXR but Marty posted a fix for the B*ss GE-7 EQ.

Perhaps some of his work will apply.
