How to put 2 fuzzes in same enclosure w/ same controls?

I have 2 DIY fuzzes (Harmonic Jekulator and Bosstone) that I want to put in the same enclosure.  Plus, since both pedals use a 100ka pot on the input and output, I want to be able to use the same 2 pots for both effects.  Ideally, there would be a switch where I could select HJ or BT, plus the bypass.  I tried wiring it today with a DPDT between the 2 pots, but both fuzzes got noisy and had a strange, sputtery decay (sort of a mis-biased transistor sound).  Both pedals work fine on their own.  Originally I thought it was because they were sharing a power supply, but giving them separate supplies didn't make any difference.  Any Ideas?  How should I wire it?

You could use dual-ganged pots so there would be no need to switch the pot connections.  Then use a 3pdt to select between the effects.  Then put a 3pdt around that to give the bypass.

If you are using two footswitches, it might be nice to have a switch for each so you can either pedal or one pedal feeding the other

Small toggle switch flips between boards.  Same pots used the whole time.

Thanks - that's the way I tried it, but it confirms that I didn't do it wrong.  It's looking like the sputtery noise may be a problem in the HJ itself.  I'm replacing the transistors and checking the caps in the meantime...

Yep - there was an intermittent connection on the clipping diodes in the HJ - I'll try wiring up the switch again tomorrow.

Problem Solved - turns out the cheap DPDT I was using was a little leaky on the common lugs.  It wasn't much, but there was enough stray capacitance to make a feedback loop.  I decided (because I'm flat broke) to use the switch anyway and just wire it as a virtual bypass - works great, sounds fuzzy-in-a-good-way.

I have put 6 fuzzes into one box (bb) with the addition of a second switch that give six options for each fuzz.

- modified Escobedo Bronx Cheer with 6 capacitor swtiching options
- Hermonic Perocolator
- Bosstone
- SI Fuzzface
- low gain frequency doubler
- crossover distortion fuzz

the latter 5 have the option of 3 different clipping diode configurations, and 2 tone cut capacitors.

the gain and volume pot act as in the percolator, with the gain pot modified to zero loss in the "full" postion which makes the bronx cheer work much better.

The switch are 4p6t slide switch - don't ask me wher to get those.

That's pretty intense - the thought of wiring a 4p6t makes my brain hurt.  Multi-effects are really the way to go with DIY - especially when 3pdt's are so expensive
