sirs can i ask your help on my ibanez ts5?

i'd like to mod it into ts9 specs . what changes should i make?
i found this site but it doesn't say which resistor exactly or which cap exactly?

The TS-5 is identical to the TS-9, but in a different package. That poster on your link was just raising the amount of gain. If you want to mod the TS-5 to 808 specs, go here:

Try the 808 mods first. The tone cap mods are optional, not necessary for an 808 conversion.

If after that, you want more low end or gain, go to GEO's technology of the Tubescreamer article, which will show you how. All you'll have to do is use GEO's schematic to follow off the op-amp and identify the parts you want to change. It's a little more educational than having to rely on someone to tell you to change "Rx" or Cx".

thanks sir.. am just starting out as a modder and diy'er so that's why i asked help
i find it hard to trace stuff thru schematics. i already looked at those schems by the way and found the schems tolook like random things and chinese characters that i cant understand.

After you look at schematics and compare them to the circuit, you'll start to see the logic behind it...it is basically the layout of the circuit itself. I would definitely study the symbols for opamps, caps, resistors, diodes, and become familiar with transistors though. This will help you a TON in the future.

ok sir thanks for the help .. will i need to remove c9 in the ts5 so that it will be like the sd1? or should i keep it there?  how come Led's don't light up when i use them as clippers in my ts5?

  The feedback loop doesn't introduce enough voltage [>their threshold voltage] to light them?
  You might want to consider working up a feedback loop circuit like TS, on breadboard or other where it's easy to make individual mods and tell the difference each one made to what was.

wat do u mean sir?? should i decrease the 51k resistor to a 33k resistor? its near the gain pot

If it's distorting, there is enough voltage there. The question is how much current is flowing through the LEDs? Not much.
