After reading this great site for some time now I decided to try and build something
a mini booster from AMZ I got the board from them and built it to the exact schematic
with the exception I replaced the 3.3 cap with a 1uf np box cap and used a silver mica
for the 10pf I also left out the input cap and jumped the connection so I could use
a pot for input gain I added a gain and tone pot with info I got from the GGG boutique
boost scheamatic  it works great but it seams I am getting a lot of hiss It kinda sounds
like a ground problem If I turn the tone pot all the way to full base all the noise goes away
and I can use the volume and gain in any combo with out any noise I have tried to
debug this my self I know that it is all part of learning  but I am not having much luck
things I have tried include reground everything remove the tone pot circuit and replace
both the j201s I would be greatfull for any and all help thanks

You should probably have some kind of input cap in there even with the input gain pot added - it should be placed after the pot before the input to the rest of the circuit. Hiss can be caused by lots of things - resistors can play a large part in some circuits, what kind of resistors did you use. How hissy is it? Really bad, or just a little bit? The hiss goes away when the tone control is all the way down because it's cutting the highs and that's where the hiss is most noticeable. Any more details would help alot; photos maybe?
