Let me try this again since it got lost in the server change. :)
I am somewhat new to building pedals although I have built a few electronics projects over the last 20+ years.

Anyway, I built the 3 legged dog a while back which worked great thanks to the great instructions at ROG and never got around to puting it in an enclosure. I started playing with it the other day to see if I wanted to tweek any of the circuit before I boxed it up and noticed a peculiar problem. When I plug another pedal in front of the 3 legged dog the pedal has a real blatty sound. Not sure if that is a good explanation of the sound but that is what it sounds like to me. I noticed this particular to using Boss pedals in front of it even when they are off. Is this due to the buffer circuit that Boss uses in their pedals? I have a Bigg Muff pedal which I bought new around 1980 which is completeley stock, and it doesn't have the same effect on the 3 legged dog.

Is there something that I can do to the input of the 3 legged dog so that these commercial pedals like the Boss pedals will not have this effect. I have a tube sound fuzz that I built from Anderton which doesn't seem to do this.

Thanks,
  George

it maybe because of either the boss buffer or bypass (which is electronic, but i dont know if they tone suck)
is that big muff true bypass?

Thanks for the reply.

I am thinking that it is the buffer circuit overloading the input of the 3 Legged Dog. If I turn down the volume on the guitar it lessens the problem.

The Big Muff is completely stock with a single pole switch, so i would say it does not have true bypass.

Thanks,
