Hi all, my first post on this forum :D Just built the Vox Repeater Percussion Tremolo from AnalogGuru's schematic posted in http://www.diystompboxes.com/smfforum/index.php?topic=57424.msg445972 (schematic is at http://analogguru.an.funpic.de/schematics/Vox_RepeatPercussion.gif). Thanks, AnalogGuru, for this schematic! :)

I made two modifications to the circuit: first I used the depth mod as drawn on the schematic; second, I replaced the BC109C transistors with BC109B, as my local electronics shop gave me those instead of the BC109C's.

It's working great but I have two questions:
- Tremolo speed is extremely slow when rate is set to slowest, and still pretty slow when rate set at fastest. I removed R11 and that gives me "sane" speeds so I think I'll leave it like that, but I wondered whether this would indicate there's something wrong with my build?
- When not playing there's an audible ticking which might be pretty irritating in some situations. Is this normal? Is there something to do about it?

For higher speed exchange C5 with a lower value, 4µ7 will double speed, 1µ will caus 10x speed - Dont leave out R11, this resistor helps to adjust  the speed better.

If you turn the depht control fuly down, ther shouldn´t occur any tickle.  Since the power-supply is decoupled this seems to be poor grounding - separate the ground from the oszillator from the audio part - two grounds .... connected together at the output (input) jack.

Thanx, I'll try the smaller capacitors.

I did use one common ground and have split it into two grounds connected together at the output jack as you suggested. However the tickling is still there although I think it's a little softer now. But now a sort of random noise or hum is added: some noise for a few seconds, then it suddenly gets louder, then it's all gone .. guess there's still something wrong with my grounding :)

Did you use the 2N2646 for your build?
Yes, but the BC109C's are replaced by BC109B's.

Well. I resoldered the ground connections and I guess something there was flimsy because the noise is now gone. The ticking is not entirely gone but the level is acceptable .. I got a "commercial" tremolo pedal that also ticks in certain settings. So I guess I'll leave it like this unless someone has any ideas :) Drawback of the separate grounds connected together at the output jack is that there's a very faint ticking when the pedal is in bypass. It's only noticable when the guitar is not playing. Not really a problem but advice is welcome :)

But it's so cool .. my first pedal, it all seems to work .. thanks again analogguru for the schematic, I've been looking for the spacemen 3/spiritualized effect so long, never knew what it was and now I got my own  :icon_mrgreen:

analogguru,
You do have some great schems on your site, I'd like to say Thank You!
Any plans for an update soon?
Also, why are the ZVEX links broken?
Thanks again!  :)

Because a nice lying psychopathic a$$hole reading this forum lied to the guys at www.funpic.de that I would violate copyrights with my self-drawn schematics.  The people at www.funpic.de don´t want to be involed in any court battle and for this reason they cancelled my account only because of the lies of a psychopathic a$$hole.

But as you can see, I have a new webspace where this will not be possible anymore.  And more schematics to come.  I only need time update the page and to upload everything.

enjoy all the stuff on my new homepage

Can you post a link to your new site when it's completed?
I know I am very interested in taking a look!
Thanks again!  8)

I don't think AG is around these parts anymore.
