Hi guys, sorry for a new thread just for this silly question.

I'm building my tubescreamer and I reallized I have C1815, which I suposed were the same as 2SC1815. Well, I believe they're at the same, but for sure they doesn't have the same pinout. I felt It was kind of odd the pinout at the layout( It's GGG layout.), checked with schematic and it was correct. The pinout in the alyout is EBC, for the three datasheets found of the C1815 they all say ECB. Is something going wrong, or I should swap and twist Base and Collector legs?

I'm asking cause I have seen many times you have turn around the tranny, but not twist it's legs :P

bye bye, thanks a lot lot!

If you go with the 2SC1815's you will need to bend the legs.

Sometimes I will use the plastic case from a stripped wire and slide it up one of the legs so they can't short against each other.

Easiest- find a couple 2N3904's and no worries.

Good luck with your build!

The "C1815" is the same as the 2SC1815. It's common to leave off the 2S.

The pinout of the 1815 is ECB. The GGG layout is expecting EBC; it was laid out for US style EBC pinout.

Just bend the legs on the 1815's until they fit the correct holes.

In response to the questions in the forum - PCB Layout for Musical Effects is available from The Book Patch. Search "PCB Layout" and it ought to appear.

Ok. I'll a do a bit of each. I bend the legs (B and C), but they're too close to each other. I fear they could short. I'm going to put a small insulator between them.

Thanks a lot guys ;)

Now I'm going to hope that (because of what I've read so far) these trannies don't make good noise. Anyway I'll have to go to the sgop, I'm still in need of DPDT's.

Bye Bye!

Thanks!
