Paracyclic filter?

Anybody know what a paracyclic filter is?   It's what EHX calls the tone stack in their Hot Tubes pedal but the only thing I could find on google that mentions it is for the Hot Tubes. Did they invent this term?

Not sure what exactly it is, but I'll bet it makes the Hot Tubes "the most versatile distortion ever!"   

....at least that's what I found out 815 times upon a Google search.
