heard this on the radio, some weird effect on the guitar in the new song and it doesn't sound like the whammy pedal... smells like some electro-harmonix stuff... pog or hog or some new thing?

I saw The Raconteurs last fall and it sounded like Jack was using the HOG with the glide fuction quite a bit. That was my guess anyway. I think I read somewhere as well that he had one.

well...

i am on tour with them right now (playing bass for the opening act, dan sartain).

and of course, you KNOW i am peeping his setup.  lots of big muff.

he does have a pog.  i don't think that is what he is using on that solo though.  i think he is using a mammoth on that, because he was having problems getting it loud enough.  i offered my services, but he has a tech...

he is a super cool guy, and quite honestly, he is very impressive.  very talented.

Wow! Are you going to be doing the Canadian tour as well? I'll be going to the Moncton New Brunswick show.
I like amps etc.

You're Dan's bass player? Dan's on John Reis's (Rocket From The Crypt, Hot Snakes) label (Swami). Very cool to see a little label and their artists getting some props in this day and age. I read a little article of Dan in the Rolling Stone a few months ago (good for him!). What's your name?

Arno van der Heijden

On the solo he uses a whammy. Look here (3 min. 53):

The weird/cool interlude bits are almost certainly an organ/keyboard type of thing....
