Tone Burner build - possible errors in layout

Hi all,

I've just completed the 3-knob tonebender build, called the Toneburner, from the GGG site. So far, it works OK, but i've run into similar issue as a previous builder in the following thread...

... which leads me to wonder if there are errors in the layout or off-board wiring shown on GGG:

My circuit works in the main, but neither the 'String' or 'Treble' knobs do anything at all - I ended up pulling these out, but I didn't insert any resistors to take their place, which may/may not affect the tone. Also, the 'Tightness' rotary switch only makes a difference in 2 of the settings - I replaced it with a DPDT switching between open and a 10uF electro going to ground. I might experiment further with the cap values. Never mind tightness - this switch would be better named an "aggression" switch :-)

EDIT: correction. The 'String' pot did do something - it acted as a second volume control (same as guy in other thread) with no effect on tone that I could tell. Also, I flipped the wiring order for the 'Mud' control because, when following the layout, the control worked in reverse (turning clockwise reduced fuzz).

So, to my question: can anyone see any obvious errors in the way the pots are connected on the parts layout at GGG or anything else suspect in the layout?

I triple-checked all my connections and they were correct. My similar findings to those described in the other thread I mentioned don't necessarily rule out an error on my part, but I'm pretty sure I've done everything as per the build instructions.

Cheers,
Andy.
