English Channel close to Death of a Vox?

I listened to the one clip on ROG's site but they didn't have it dimed like the in DOV video.  Anyone who has built an english channel before, what do you think?

a friend built one that i got to play for a bit.  i really liked it.  it really did have vox flavor to it.  i liked it better on the low-med gain settings.

The EC is very Voxey with the gain turned down, and I still play around with mine quite often even after I've had it a couple of years.  The one thing I will say is that I don't like it with a booster in front of it; it gets ever so slightly fuzzy if you push it too hard.

I haven't heard that Lovepedal, but it sounds pretty bad to me in that clip.  It sounds like he not only got the gain dimed, but also has the volume dimed so it's overdriving the amp, thereby making it impossible to hear what the pedal actually sounds like.  Nice demo!

I would certainly build the EC before buying any Vox pedal.  This guys sells kits if you want it as easy as possible since the ROG amp-sims are somewhat complicated.
