The ROG FAQ has this statement:

Can I use one of your FET-based distortions to drive my Ruby or Little Gem amp?

When placing any distortion circuit before a 386-based amp, you need to keep the output volume at the same level as the dry guitar signal. Otherwise, you'll overdrive the 386 and lose the character of the distortion.

Now, I'm wanting to run a Whisker through a Ruby.  How can I keep the Whisker output at the level I need?  Would I need to add a resistor to the output of the Whisker?  If so, what value?  Or am I way off base here?

Is there a volume knob on the Whisker? Just use it to adjust the input until it sounds right. You won't hurt the 386 by plugging it into it, it will just sound like kaaaa until you adjust the input level.

Yes, there is a volume pot.  Just wanted to be sure this little thing I'm ginning together won't be a waste of time.
