Can I switch out this stage w/ an SPDT switch?

I'm looking at Q2.  As Wampcat once noted, it might be distorting so I've been tweaking that section a little.  I assume (from my limited knowledge) that it's acting to boost the signal to the IC + input.  Can I switch this section out with a SPDT slide switch to see what the pedal would sound like w/out the Q2 section?  The one hookup I thought would work didn't. It turned it to an on/off switch.  So, where would I hook up the A, com, and B contacts if this IS possible?

If it's not possible maybe I'll try to use the switch for some other fun option.  I've seen most of the posted mods to this pedal but I'm going for something different just for fun.  :)

thanks,

What you want to do should work if you cut the connection just before C5. Connect com to C5, A to the junction of R7, R8, C4 and the collector of Q2 (i.e. where C5 used to connect) and B to the junction of C3, R5 and Q6. In the A position the circuit will be connected as stock, in the B position Q2 and its associated components should be bypassed.
