I remember seeing some round enclosures on this site som time ago (an Ikea pan comes to mind), and I just wondered how you guys made the bottoms for these enclosures? Reason for asking is I found a source for some great enclosures, just the right size, very sturdy and made of steel.

You can use sheet metal cut round and then JB weld nuts to the enclosure. Then feed bolts through the bottom lid into the nuts.
You can also use plexiglass or anything flat and thin.
