Attaching headphones to a mic stand

So I set my studio up a different way as I started vocals with my songs now and so I have headphones that stay by the mic stand all the time now.

Thing is I have nowhere to store these $100 headphones and hate to keep them on the floor because they could get stepped on...
I'm just wondering if anyone has any DIY projects for like a hook which clips onto a mic stand that can hold the headphones when they are not in use.

Also if there are off the shelf units out there I would be interested in seeing them to get ideas.

Thanks

What I did is took a regular wire hanger, bent it up into sort of a U shape, then bent the round end upwards about an inch from the end, then bent the other end down about 3 inches, then zip tied it to my mic stand. Not pretty, but very functional, of course I use fairly lightweight headphones so YMMV.

You could also use some heavier gauge solid core wire.

that was my first thought but with 12 gauge copper wire I have, or even 10.  But it doesn't look great...I'm thinking something with a little more style and less pointy edges.

I have a set of Grado Labs SR80s.  They are fairly light but the thick cord really weighs them down.

Anyways, if I did go that way I would do a U shaped hook leading to a spiral which went around the mic boom.  It would have a little style with the spiral but then theres that sharp point at the end of the U bend.  I would like to do something different for that but for now I could put some tape and shrink tubing over it.

I know you specified DIY, but you probably want something like this.....if it was me I'd just buy one rather than try to copy it.
