Slightly OT......What I have been up to recently......

Hi All,

I posted a few weeks ago in the For Sale forum that I was going to take some time off from building enclosures to focus on some other stuff.

Well, here are some pics of my latest efforts.....

Please forgive the quality of the pics, some are a little blurry. It is also rather difficult to capture the depth of the color with my camera abilities...some pictures get a little close but none really hit the mark 100%....

Basically, there are 3 colors in these pics... a Satin Black on the round (Thanks jlullo) and then a green Emerald and a blue Lapis on the die cast boxes (Thanks MarkM)

The Black serves as the base coat for the Illusions top coats. I have not gotten the coats to be perfectly flat yet as there is a little orange peel, but it's getting better and more uniform as I do more and more.

I have a long way to go to get powder coating perfected, but in time, I hope to be able to do pretty good.

Thanks for looking and I will be getting back to building enclosures real soon.....

BTW John, I have not forgotten about ya..... I will get that chassis done as soon as I can....

Please clarify: Those are black POWDER COAT base with Illusions spray paint on top?
Or is it all powder coating?

Hey Dave,

It is all powder coat...... The Illusions top coat is a tinted deal with flakes in it.... not sure what all they have in it....

I'm sure you'll get these perfect in time. They look good already. I like the flake finishes.

I've been resisting bugging you about the chassis. I know you are busy...

I have a local guy here that does all my powder coating and those look a lot like the finishes he does for me. He has that sparkle Illusion finish that he has sprayed on quite a few different colors for great effects. The nice thing is that he's cheap too. Stripped a wah shell and powder coated it for me for $15. Can't beat it.

Anywho, great work there Mick! As a newcomer to this board, I'm looking forward to some of your enclosures when they become available again.
