Hey all,

I've done about a million and a half searches for clips/samples/demos/etc. of the Axis Face Silicon from Fuzz Central and have come up empty handed.  Does anyone have any clips?  I've found many threads stating that this is a good sounding pedal, but I want to hear one before ordering parts.  I currently have a Boutique Fuzz from GGG (negative ground PNP - no oscillation - I got lucky!) I built with a matched set of Ge trannies from Small Bear.  It works fine, but sounds a bit too boomy and farty.  I swapped the Ge trannies out for some BC108's and I like the texture (more focused grit and less farty), but the BC108's have WAY too much gain (I think the hfe was something like 300+ when I measured them) and sound a bit harsh.  I actually like the sound of the newest Dunlop Jimi Hendrix reissue Fuzz (BC108's), but hate the price tag.  I figure a smoother Silicon Fuzz like the Axis Face would be a good match for me.

Please post some clips of the Axis Face if you have any.

Thanks a million.

Ok, this is a rough mix off our new album.  The fuzz up to the weird instrumental tribal section is my Roger Mayer FF.  Then after that bridge, when the guitar comes back in it is Axis Face.  Then on the end riff the RM FF takes over again.  There's not much AF in there, but at least you can check it out and compare it to a Ge FF.  The guitar is the back pickup of my Burns Brian May and the amp is my Line 6 set to plexi, and the guitar knob is turned down a bit to clean it up.

EDIT: On second listening, I guess because it's cleaned up a bit it isn't very FF sounding.  Sorry.

Oh boy, a new album from the 23rd Century! Can't wait, when's the deadline?

Love the heavier hendrix-feel you have going on here. :)

Sorry for OT.

Thanks!

It'll probly be about a month is my best guess before the mixing/mastering and cover art is done.  This is definitely our rock album.
