a while ago i ordered a green ringer pcb from ggg and then populated it and wired it according to their directions, i had it for about a week and then i borrowed it to my friend who i play in a band with.  he recently just gave it back because the little feller died on him. now all it does is make a loud pop and blink the led when you turn it on, it doesnt pass any sound and i took it out of the enclosure to be sure the parts werent shorting.  i also went over the pcb to make sure none of the solder points came off the traces.

does anyone have any idea what happened?  is there a part that needs replacing?
any help would be greatly appreciated.
until then ill just have to follow the standard debugging procedure.

thanks

sadly i dont own a DMM so getting voltages may take me a little while, ill do a search and find a good one and purchase it (i cant believe ive made it this long with out one i probably shouldnt be able to call myself an effects builder  :icon_confused:) after all i really need it for other things as well.

im going to try and make an audio probe and learn how to use it and hopefully find my problem.

ill let you know is soon as i find something new, until then any advice would be appreciated.

GREEN FUZ

God knows what your buddy did to it but if it worked once it should work again.

Battery?       :P

haha i already did that once today, i spent about half an hour trying to debug a booster that wouldnt work but it turned out the battery was the problem.  the weird thing was it could power my contro fuzz but not either of my lpb2s. but i switched to a power supply for debugging now.

im off to check wires! and if that doesnt get me anywhere ill try an audio probe tomorrow when no ones sleeping.
