HEY Everyone...

If you saw my previous topic for a fuzz face silicone/ germanium combo fuzz you will know somewhat what I was trying to do..

I was talking to some of the guys I work with and this is what we came up with :
"Blistering loud Marshall head, Very amp like" The signal is warm and thick with a moderate fuzz coat. It is fuzzy, but not in a characteristic thin or high raspy way. Its a bit loose in the low end (it isn't ideal for low power chord work), but wonderful for heavy full chords and singing solos with a bit of bite. It would work nicely stacked with other overdrive and EQ units. In short, it has the bite of a fuzz and the thick, smooth sustain of a distortion box. Aslo compaired to a distorted class A amp. And has a hint of a Germanium Fuzzface sound, but much more amp-like and smoother. The unit would also have to be quiet and work well with effects before it, unlike the Fuzz Face.

What I wanted is a germanium-silicone combo fuzz. I know fuzz faces dont sound good with effects before them but I know Rats take effects very well before and after them.
Would this be possible to make it more of a fuzz pedal? Now a fuzz face but more of a fuzzy distortion.

Thanks

Matt

You are not likely to get all you ask from a single box.
Do this.
Build an Easy face.
Build an ROG splitter/blender.
Dial in the distortion from your favorite box in combo with the fuzz.

This should achieve what you want.

I'm not really saying I want a distortion with a fuzz combo.
Like how boss has there "Fuzz" pedals. They are not really fuzz faces but more of a fuzz distortion... hopefuly that explains it more...

I know how the rat sounds like an amp some times. So I was thinking could I change the parts to make it alot warmer, and more of a fuzz..

Thanks

Really,

The Easyface is an absolute killer pedal, its also a simple build and a hybrid like you asked for before.

Personal taste has so many intricacies. You won't be able to get much closer to your idea than this!

By building the Splitter/Blender (as a stand alone box) you can pair it up with anything to suit your tastes.

This is the way to go!

After Playing the rat today at work, I was wondering if there is a way to make it less "Dry" and "warm"

I know you suggested to combind the 2 pedals, but I think I am onto something after playing it today...
