I didn't start with this project. I made an LPB-1 replica. Its all wired up and I got nothing. I can get a very faint signal and then I turn on the switch and its dead. What could it be? Also, is there a specific way to wire an LED (a positive and a negative)?

The first thing to do is measure with a meter. Check your voltages along with the rest in here:

Reguarding the LED, long leg goes to voltage (through a current limiting resistor, of course), short leg goes to ground.

For the pedal, made sure everything is actually in there.

Make sure every single socketed part is actually put in

Make sure there is some kind of power connected

And also read (and do) the debugging guide. Print it out huge, put it on your wall, near your workbench, over your amp. You will, unfortunately, be using it alot if you plan to continue in this hobby. And you will realize that most of the mistakes you make are "DOH!" mistakes

Good Luck

+1 on the debug thread.

Spent an hour staring at a Fuzz board the other day wondering why it didn't work, then used the Audio Probe (described in the thread) to hunt down a faulty cap that was stopping everything - which took all of 2 minutes!  Replaced the cap and all was fine.
