I finally found the tremolo sound I have been looking for - by slaving my THD Bivalve into my Ampeg Gemini VI!  The Bivalve is going through a 2X12 as well, so there is a straight sound paired with the tremolo effect built into the Gemini.  This has me wondering if there is an existing design for a tremolo pedal that incorporates a parallel straight sound, would it provide the same effect in a pedal format?

Since a tremolo ideally only modulates volume, all mixing in straight signal would do is weaken the tremelo effect, IMHO. No different than an intensity control. With separate amps there are phasing effects coming into it that make for a more complex blend of sounds. Check out the threads here about emulating the Brownface tremelo in a pedal, and the two designs for this at Geofex.
