treble bypass for f/x loop volume

I built a volume control for the f/x loop of my amp, but it took away all the treble. Does anyone know what cap value I should use for a treble bypass? I want to be able to bring the vol. way down, while still getting okay tone.

use a bigger pot.
or add a buffer.
