Bypass: using a 3PDT for a DPDT - do I still use a jumper ???

Quick question - if I'm using a 3PDT switch instead of a DPDT (wired like this):

I understand that I'll just ignore the middle 4-5-6-Lugs of the 3PDT (instead using lugs 7-8-9 instead of lugs 4-5-6).

However, do I still have to jumper lugs 3 and 9 together???

If you are using this wiring configuration you don't need to jumper lugs 3 and 9, simply because in the diagram lugs 3 and 6 are not tied together.
