I demolished an old radio today in order to score a lot of parts. The one thing that really caught my attention were these small switches.
After some testing with a led I found out that these are momentary switches (meaning they are only ON when you keep them pressed down)

I would like to turn these momentary switches in normal switches, as in boss and ibanez stompboxes.
After searching for flip flops I found the next thing

(the left part)
Would this do the trick? and how would I be able to make a guitar signal go trough this? because here it works in order to get a current go through it to lit the LED

You squeezed it into a 1590A - you insane fool!  :icon_mrgreen:

Well this... this is just silly... this can't fit in a 1590B... can it? And you're not even using SMD you mad man!

You want to check out http://www.geofex.com/.  It has a bunch of article on using momentary switches in pedals.  The CMOS 4053 switching section is where it's at http://www.geofex.com/Article_Folders/cd4053/cd4053.htm.

I've used momentary switch with the 4049 schematic that widdly mentioned above to activate dpdt and 4pdt relays.  I've also prototyped the momentary swithch with the 4013 IC.  They also work with the 4049 nand ic (http://members.shaw.ca/roma/switching.html).
