2n5089 in Tonepad CE-2

Any forseeable problem in using 2n5089 in place of 2n5088 in the CE-2? I know they're the same pinout, and that the 5089s are higher gain, but will the higher gain create a problem in that circuit?

It shouldn't be  a problem. if you have doubt you can always try a socket and test a couple that match the pinout.
