DOD YJM308 - adding a 3PDT NOT for True Bypass, but for just adding a LED.

I wantd to add an LED to a DOD YJM308 . . . However, I was told:
"If you are modifying a YJM308 you may run into problems with a turn on and turn off pop by making it true bypass - The YJM308 doesn't allow for pulldown resistors to prevent pops - The circuit sucks a minimum of tone using the stock switching arrangement - Analogman doesn't even make his modified YJM308s true bypass unless the buyer specifically asks for it."
So basically adding a 3PDT for True Bypass may add a POP to this pedal when I turn it on/off.
Okay, is there a way that can I use the 3PDT switch (like a DPDT) keeping the cirucit as it is without making it True Bypass, and then just add a LED to that??
Basically what I'm asking is: How do I wire a 3PDT like a DPDT and then add a LED???
Cheers . . .

Here's something in the ballpark of what you are asking:

THANK YOU SOO MUCH -- THIS IS BASICALLY WHAT I NEEDED!!!
I'm more of a visual person, so this really does help a lot.
Now all I have to figure out what's what on the pedal and I'll be all set  :icon_biggrin:
Cheers . . .

The input wire is the one thats coming off of pin 3, to the 470k, 10k, then the .001uf input cap. Obviously the out is coming off the second lug of the volume pot. That should help. If possible, can you post a picture of the inside of your pedal?

BTW, nice playing on your site.

This may be dumb, but is there room in the YJM to add a 3pdt?  In mine the battery is snug against the dpdt switch which is sideways.

Just out of curiosity, why can't you use pulldown resistors with this circuit?  ???   Seems like using grounded input wiring on a DPDT or 3PDT for true bypass would work just fine.  The output already has a pulldown via the volume pot, so you'd only have to worry about the input.  The MXR Distortion+/Microamp project on Tonepad as a 2.2M pulldown on the input that works fine and this is essentially the same circuit.  Also, keep in mind that adding a status LED can cause pops also, due to the current rush of the LED turning on.  A little power supply filtering should take care of that though.

I don't run any of my pedals on batteries, so I think I can probably figure out a way to fit the switch.
I can't tell what's what here, but I've drawn lines (to and from) where the wires connect to try to help sort out where they go.
Looks like it's probably fairly easy - if I knew what I was doing  :D
The White. Green, and Red wires on the far right are the DC input - Anyhow, here's a picture of the inside:

To Avoid any LED pops . . .
Where in the circuit do I place the pull-down resistors (before and after the PCB input/output)???

What's a good value for these resistors ???

or

How do I do a little power supply filtering ???

Cheers . . . Ian
