Please help. I've got bypass and when the effect is switched on I have signal at a little lower volume. Also when i turn up the volume all the way, tthe signal drops out, then if i turn it down a little it comes back. I'm sure that is because instead of using a 25k pot I used a 50k with a a 47k resistor on the outside lugs. I took every reading I could and don't know how to orient the transistor leads so I just went from top to bottom.

I have a scem with all the readings but I can't figure out how to post it. Please help

Thanks

What could it be in the wiring? I've checked it all several times (literally) at it seems right now. I had found mistakes getting to where I am now but everything seems right except my voltages quit at around Q2. I'd like to post my schem with my voltages if you could help me do that.

Thanks

Jeff

Jeff,

I've been there. Many more times than I would like to admit. It's frustrating. Why do you think I wrote this page?

You can post your pictures. Read this:

I'm pretty sure the wiring is good but something is wrong. Here's the schematic with all the values with the parts. Your help would really be appreciated. I'm totally stuck.

Thanks

Here are all the voltages. As you can see I lose it on Q2. Any help?

What are those numbers - for example on R1? 1.73

foozertone

r1 was reading 1.73 yesterday but now reads.52. I repaired some broken wires and must have screwed something up although I don't see what it is. I am gettin 9.6 at the 9V spot on the board.

Thanks

R1 should not have anything on it. Not even 1 volt. So there's a problem already.

Okay I now have 1.73 at R1. So I want .00 right? I get 1.73 at the point on the board where R1 connects to the wiring (I). I even get 1.73 on the lug of the 3PST. What do I do? I don't understand where i am going wrong.

Thanks

I've retraced all my wires and haven't found a problem. I still get 1.73 from the switch lug 7(?) The only other thing I can think of is if I got the jacks wired wrong. I'm not sure hoe to tell which lug is which. Could that be the problem?

Thanks

Jeff

Okay, I somehow got the voltage at r1 to zero. Problem now is I have no sound with the effect on. Hopefully I'll figure that out so I can get help getting her going.

Thanks

Check the DIY FAQ for how to wire the jacks. Also check out the beginner project which has pictures as well.
