Are the codes of 30pF capacitor 30 or 300?

GREEN FUZ

Should be just 30.

Here check this out, I just happened to be looking at it when I caught your post.

Hi, you can download Electronics Assistant for free from here http://www.electronics2000.co.uk/download.htm. It's a great program with calculators and code conversions.

Nice one. It`s good to have all the information in one place.

Gile, according to the capacitor calculator included in the software the code for 30pf is 300.

Thanks to everyone!

As far as I know, if it just says "30", it's 30pF.  In the 3-number code, if it says "300", it will be 30pF.   Those are the 2 most common ways they're numbered (2-number or 3-number).
Then, moving an order of magnitude higher, a "301" is 300pF, and so on....the third number is the multiplier.
It's great that they made the system so convenient, eh? he he.
