Hey,

I had some questions about the DPDT switch.

I found this, if i am wrong correct me...but this is how i would wire a effect true bypass using this?

If I want to use a led...just go to a 3pdt and use the inside 3?

How about if I dont want true bypass but use an led?
I was reading about pete cornish's bypass and he doesent use true bypass, but how he wires it prevents "Ghost" sound...so you wont have the units tone or sound in your signal. I began wondering how to do this if your not using true bypass...
Can someone explain?

Thanks

Matt

that's a correct wiring for true bypass without led. if you want a led try searching for millennium bypass. for electronic switching there's a great article by tone god(there are also PCB's on his site):

have a nice build

Could I wire that 4066 onto any pedal? It seems as if the dpdt is wired to the IC via its solder points.. Correct? How do I then wire the contol in and out? Where would those go on my board?

I still love using the dpdt style switches and I have a crap load laying around here...

I am not the best at reading schematics but I really want to get this..

You can do the Pete Cornish style bypass scheme and be able to use your DPDT footswitches with LEDs... the only additional circuitry needed is a buffer to drive it.

I love the IC buffer.. .could I use that?

Is there a way to show how to wire the switch cornish style?
Sadly as i am still learning slowly how to read the schematics ... can we take it step by step or a drawling if possible?

Thanks guys!

You might want to read "The Technology of Bypasses" at GEO.

In response to the questions in the forum - PCB Layout for Musical Effects is available from The Book Patch. Search "PCB Layout" and it ought to appear.

Is the mellinum bypass what I want to go with? Is it anything like what cornish uses?

soulsonic

It's not what Cornish uses, but it's a nice handy way of adding an LED indicator to a true bypass arrangement like what's shown in the first diagram you posted.

What is the cornish switching system?

In the pictures i have seen of his pedals he used the dpdt
