Dr. Boogey: bypassing the mid pot

I'm finishing up my (Gaussmarkov) Dr. Boogey and I'm including a footswitch to bypass the mid pot for a (preset) scooped sound.

Since lug 1 of the bass pot connects directly to lug 3 of the mid pot, and lug 1 of the mid pot goes to ground, which would be the correct way to wire the DPDT footswitch?

A) lug 1 of the bass pot toggles between mid-pot lug 3 and ground (bypassing the mid pot altogether)
B) lug 1 of the bass pot toggles between mid-pot lug 3 and the pad where mid-pot lug 2 connects

This is going to be a cool build and I'm looking forward to posting pics/sounds.
Thanks guys,
Buck

The mid pot or 2.5k resistance will need to be intact all the time as it is in the normal tone stack, it's all way holding the bass pot 2.5k from ground. So all you need to do is switch between connecting the mid cap (c12) to the wiper of the mid pot or directly to ground. This is for full mid cut cut of course.
If you want an in-between mid setting you'll have to measure the mid pot at either side of the wiper and put in fixed resistors on the mid cut preset side of the switch, simulating that ratio.

So, toggle the C12 (220nF) cap between the mid-wiper and ground? Sounds good.
Yes, this is for a 'fixed scoop' sound. The Dr. Boogey does the scooped thing extremely well, but also has a nice fullness when the mids are up 1/2 way or so.

Thanks, John!

Yes, it looks like when the mid cap is grounded and the bass pot is 2.5K from ground you will have the same thing as when the mid pot is turned all the way down.
This would make a nice solo/rhythm preset stomper. With the mid cut (C12 to ground) switched in you get a heavy rhythm sound, then with the switch stomped over over to engage the mid pot you can set the pot for a flat mid solo tone. Basically a mid boost although the whole tone stack is cut only theoretically.
If you find too much middle is missing with the cap diectly to ground you can add some mids back with the cap then a resistor to ground. This may throw off the bass pot though, I guess you'd need to set the mid pot and measure the sides of the pot to see what you need to do to get a close approximation of the mid pot setting with fixed resistors.

One could also switch the whole tone stack out of the lpop as well for a huge mid and level boost.

Ha ha, thanks man.
I'm about half tempted to just get another 2.5k pot, turn it all the way down & wire it to the switch, then just leave it inside the case; i.e. a set-and-forget type control.
We'll see.

Thanks again,
