If one reversed the Electro caps and red/black battery hookups in a standard Vox wah circuit could pnp transistors be used? I know this kind of thing works in the ol Fuzz Face circuit but I was wondering if it could be apllied in other places?

yes, many a time have i built germanium wahs. i dont think you have to flip the battery wires, though.

the sound is not much different, besides it being more mellow, since the germanium transistors i used had less gain than the run of the mill bc109 stuff i usually go for. in nother words, you may not hear much difference.
no longer the battle of midway...(i left that band)...

i hate signatures with gear lists/crap for sale....

i am a wah pervert...ask away...

I've popped some NPN germaniums into my wah circuits before and it was as you described. It had a really nice sort of airy crispness in the top end but the intensity of the wah suffered a little too much I thought. I do occasionally find some higher gain freaks in my pnp germaniums and was wondering if I could capture a little of both worlds. Thanks Midway!
