I'm building the vero layout of the uglyface w/ mod by Brian Creekmur here:

http://www.aronnelson.com/gallery/v/bcreekmur/uglyface_with_mod.jpg.html

I'm unsure about a couple of the offboard wiring connections.

Right now, I'm using a 2pdt switch without LED (just connecting the two LED + and -)

Looking on the left side of the layout, I've wired the first (top) ground to switch.

Where does the 'input' and 'input ground' connections go?

Also, has anyone verified this layout yet?

Thanks

Well, I wasn't confident I could figure out the wiring and wanted to make sure I was using a verified layout.

So, I made the perfboard version here:  http://www.home-wrecker.com/uglyface.html (version 1 layout), with one alteration

I'm using an LM386-N chip

It works, but the offboard wiring is still not right.  I used the switch wiring shown here:
http://www.geocities.com/tpe123/folkurban/fuzz/snippets.html

The effect works when engaged, but has no sound at all on bypass.

Thanks

you don't need to put the grounds on the footswicth (well I don't anyway)

If you label your switch                1 2
                                                 3 4
                                                 5 6

in and out (bypassed) should be 3 and 4

5 and 6 should be joined together

and 1 should be input on the board and 2 should be lug 2 from the level pot

Hope this helps

Thanks Austin - I rewired it and it works fine.

Lots of interesting sounds to experiment with this one - I think a pedal would be great for the sensitivity pot (I'm guessing someone has already thought of this)
