integrating CMOS Boost with Red Llama.... pinout question

Hey guys,
I'm trying to figure out how i can use the unused pins of the CD4049UBE in the Red Llama to add a CMOS boost

(i was referencing MarkM's layout- http://www.aronnelson.com/gallery/v/MarkMs-Gallery/album15/album76/CMOS_Boost_LAYOUT.gif.html)

to the circuit.  I downloaded the data sheet for the chip, but I can't figure out what the pins are doing that aren't Vcc, Vss, or NC.

The CMOS boost looks pretty simple, and only uses 3 pins....

any info would be appreciated!

try this:  look at the schem for a red llama (e.g., http://gaussmarkov.net/wordpress/circuits/red-llama/) and you will see the pin numbers on the inverters.  does that help?

i'm sympathetic!    here's what i am doing, because i have the same problem.  gez seems to have played with this chip as much as anybody.  try reading his posts.  often, that will get you into conversations between gez and R.G. or Mark Hammer or similar, and then you can tap into what others have said as well.  i'd give you the dope straight if i had finished doing my homework, but i haven't.

You might also wan to look at the ROG Double-D distortion.

It uses the left over 4049 inverters too and has pin numbers on the schem.
