Hi

I have built the ruby amp and now intend building another with the fetzer valve circuit replacing the input buffer. Is a pre amp required also?

I am new to this.  Does anyone know what improvements in tone I am likely to hear.

Hi! Well, the input buffer maybe needs to be there, if not, you'll probably got high impedance output from the Fetzer as preamp. I recommend you to use the Fetzer as preamp, and then the buffer, with the power stage at last. But, there are many posibilities. Try to switch the Fetzer with the Mosfet Boooster of AMZ, you'll have other sound, but similar.

Thanks. I will mod the one i just finished by adding in the Fetzer and see what is sounds like.
